The Embodied Life: Cultivating Presence through Meditation, Guided Inquiry and the Teachings of Moshé Feldenkrais
All methods devoted to human potential emphasize the importance of awakening to the present moment. All that we long for- love, joy, peace, harmony, truth, freedom-require the capacity for PRESENCE.
This seminar uses ancient and modern methods for learning to:
1) sit quietly with your own thoughts,
2) mindfully welcome your feelings/emotions,
3) unwind unhelpful mental and physical habits and
4) be at home in your own body.
Learning to be at ease with your “historical self” is a key part of human transformation.
Embodied Meditation is based in the Zen practice of “just sitting”. We learn to experience the moment “just as-it-is”. (Chairs are available.)
Embodied Movement: The movement lessons of Moshé Feldenkrais are very effective ways of transforming our motor patterns and self-image. These lessons are also interesting and fun.
Embodied Inquiry includes a variety of awareness experiments for growing positive neural, mental and emotional patterns. It is based in Russell’s own research plus the Focusing method of Eugene Gendlin, non-violent communication and Gestalt awareness experiments.
Through meditations, movement lessons, awareness practices, and conversation, we all learn to be at home in the present moment.
This class is taught in English with German translation, if needed.
